Junior Youth Fellowship is the ministry of our church that works with third through fifth grade students. Its members include kids from many different churches, denominations, and schools. JYF meets weekly on Sunday afternoons from 4 to 6. On a typical Sunday, kids will play games, have dinner, learn about Jesus' plan for their lives, and participate in serving the church.
Along with weekly meetings, JYF meets throughout the year for special outings and service projects. Each summer in June, JYF takes a trip to Wild Adventures in Valdosta. In order to cover the cost of each eligible child, fundraising must be done throughout the year. JYF also volunteers with local organizations, such as Putnam Christian Outreach, Putnam County Library, and Putnam County Food Resource. Through these service opportunities it is our hope that the kids would have a sense of community and love for serving others.
We certainly hope that you will find a home with the Junior Youth Fellowship of Eatonton First United Methodist Church!
-Debbie Pittman, Children's Minister
Kids are allowed to participate in group outings if they maintain certain attendance criteria to the weekly meetings. For each week of attendance, each child will receive an attendance ticket. Once an outing is announced, kids will also be told how many tickets are required for the outing.
