Praise God for a miracle for Brian Murkison (Atlanta, Ga)! He was in a car accident just prior to Christmas and sustained a head injury. The doctors told his family that the injury was so traumatic that he would not live. The child (8 years old) was moved to Hospice. His family asked for prayers and more than 800 people on Facebook heard the news and have joined in intercessory prayer for Brian. After 10 days in Hospice, Brian woke up and has been moved to Children's Hospital in Atlanta where he is making miraculous progress. My niece knows this family well and they are so thankful for continued faith and prayers on behalf of their precious son. Thank you, God, for your miracle in saving this child!

My sister Sally has recently had some problems that caused her to be hospitalized in Valdosta, Ga. She is much better now and is back in the nursing home in Lakeland. Thanks to everyone who has prayed for her; God has answered those prayers and mine. Praise the Lord!
Also, my great granddaughter Cadence has returned home from Eggleston Hospital after her heart surgery and is recovering very well. The doctors think her heart problems have been corrected, at least into adulthood. Thank you so much for your prayers and expressions of concern for Cadence these past few days. Our prayers have been answered. GOD IS GREAT! Jim Godwin, 2/3/12

What the Intercessory Prayer Team means to me...Personally, having a special place and time to pray has been very rewarding to me. Although I know I can (and do) pray anywhere and anytime, I need the structure. I get so caught up in my everyday schedule that I don't get around to all my "plans" and unfortunately, I have felt that my prayers are often too rushed. Having the prayer room offers a place of peace and tranquility. It gives me the opportunity to close out the "need to's" for an hour and talk to God. I feel that this "Sweet Hour of Prayer" helps me slow down and pray more in-depth. It is helping me form a good habit that I need! I have been, and am the recipient of, the prayers of others, and I am so thankful for these prayers. I want to share that same blessing with others. -Prayer Warrior
Three years ago I asked God to help me to love Him as I should, to have a closer relationship to Him. His answer was that I need to spend more time with Him reading the Bible and in prayer with Him. I already knew the answer; I just needed to begin to become obedient. When we ask our Heavenly Father for what He wants to give us anyway, His answer is always "yes." It may be a struggle for some of us to give the Lord quality time. It certainly is for me.
Prayer is primarily about our relationship with God, more so than how God chooses to answer, for He is always answering our prayers when we believe in who He is as seen through His Son, Jesus, the Scriptures, and with our Helper, the Holy Spirit. In my personal quest to learn more about prayer, one huge truth revealed to me is that God is waiting to orchestrate everything on earth as it is in heaven, but guess what we have to do? We have to ask. Our loving, compassionate God is waiting on you and me to ask. Our church's prayer room was formed from obedience to God's call to undergird our church, community, nation and world with powerful prayers. This prayer ministry started because God has called us to love one another. -Prayer Warrior
2010 was a year of significant spiritual growth for me. I contribute much of this growth to my involvement in the IPM. Committing to pray for others one hour per week has blessed my own life. The time spent in the prayer room is so special to me. Each week brought me closer to God and more aware of my need to spend time daily with Him. This time spent with God doesn't feel like an obligation but like privilege. I can only hope everyone involved has experienced some of the same closeness to God that I have. -Prayer Warrior
This quiet time of solitude with the Lord has been very special for me as I have prayed for God to show up in the lives of others through the healing of physical, emotional, and relational issues. He has also revealed Himself to me in many different ways. Whether God gives us a glimpse into the answers to our prayers or not, we know He is working out His plan in the lives of those on the prayer list, as well as, the ones that are praying. I have visited with some on the prayer list, and they have shared how much the prayers, notes and cards have meant. I know what it means to them because I have experienced being on the receiving end of a prayer ministry. I have personally experienced spiritual growth through this ministry, and it has been a blessing to intercede on behalf of those in need. I am thankful for this ministry and for the faith and work of those on the committee. I encourage and challenge others to join and share in this blessing. -Prayer Warrior
When was the last time you could pray out loud to God and the dog not come to you thinking you were talking to him? When was the last time you could pray and the telephone not ring? Or the children come inside? Or a spouse comes into the room needing something or other?
This is my time with God - out loud - praising and complaining and asking for healing for someone. And nobody can reach me! Hallelujah! I have a great time talking to God and it's just me comfortably on a couch (knees won't let me kneel very long) and pray, and then talk, and complain about all the sickness and pain and misery in the world. I also start writing cards to people I think might need a little help or cheer or just hear from somebody. Usually, I finish one or two cards, and the mailbox is just two blocks away. This is my special time with God. Just him and me! Try it-you might like it. -Prayer Warrior
